October 29 to November 3, 2007
As part of its 15th anniversary celebrations, AVG Köln mbH invited 7 art students from the Manson Gross School of Art Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA, and 7 design students from the Köln International School of Design (KISD) to turn the gypsum from the waste gas purification system of the Cologne residual waste incineration plant into art objects.
Under the direction of Professor Michael Rees and Professor Michael Erlhoff, the design and art students first familiarized themselves with the material plaster and then developed art objects on their own. All the objects were presented to the Cologne public together on November 3, 2007 under the title "Transformation" at Museum Gürzenich.
