smart product detection using machine learning & mobile indoor navigation prototype
Remember the last time you went shopping - why were you in a store? What did you do, what pleases you or is important, what is redundant and feels annoying or outdated?
Consider technical developments such as self-checkout (e.g., Ikea, Rewe, Bauhaus but ultimately also vending machines etc.), apps that function as product advisors and shopping diaries ( Codecheck, Ökotest, etc. ), last-mile delivery ( Foodora, Amazon Go, Amazon Pantry, Alexa and Dash Buttons) or look them up online if you haven't heard of it.
Think social trends like sustainability, organic trends / eco-consciousness, lohas and greenwashing, Small Manufacturing, experiential shopping (e.g. Globetrotter), mass customization / limited editions, networked solitude, Urban boom, putative sharing cultures.
Let's assume that, in addition to delivery services, there will still be a need to shop for ourselves in the future - for what reasons do we go to merchants, markets and stores?
What would be services, information and stations you would want to see?
What does the market of the future look like?
To get into the doing faster, we focus primarily on groceries in the course, from checkout to Experience stations, consulting, new services or hybrid apps, we work as always in a team, possibly do short research,
develop ideas and implement them as prototypes. I'm looking forward to it, it will definitely be exciting.
